Got Questions?
What is Sea Moss?
Sea Moss is a mineral rich super food that grows in the ocean! We use wildcrafted sea moss from the waters of St Lucia. The OG Sea Moss uses the golden variety which has 92 of the 102 minerals our bodies need. It is also vegan and gluten free!
The texture of Raw Sea Moss Gel?
Our OG Sea Moss gel will have a slightly thick, jelly consistency. The fruit infused sea moss gel will have a more apple sauce or baby food texture.
It is normal to notice slight variance in textures with the sea moss gel as you order over time. As a natural product the seasons and the suns position effects how much sunlight reach the sea moss before harvest and how long it was sun dried for after harvest. These are a couple of factors that will make the sea moss to be more or less dry and dense.
Regardless of it's texture the benefits remain the same!
How do I know if my Raw Sea Moss Gel is spoiled?
You can check for spoilage by smelling or visually checking for these signs: a pungent smell. If the sea moss develops a smell different from when you first opened the jar it may have gone bad. You may also see a film develop on top with specks of mold.Refer to the question above to get the most use from your sea moss!
The difference between Gold and Purple variety?
The colour difference is due to where they grow. The purple sea moss variety is in it's original state and grows deeper in the ocean where the sun light does not hit the sea moss. Purple contains more nutrients and is higher in antioxidants! This also means the purple strains taste much stronger! The gold colour occurs naturally when bleached in the sun. The sun drying method strips away some of the mineral nutrients, but still has 92 out of the 102 minerals we need!
How much sea moss is in the jar?
All jars have minimum 80% sea moss, or more. Each fruit affects the texture differently. Some fruits have a firm texture, while others are soft and mushy. The texture of the fruit plays a role in the outcome of the final product.
